there’s a reason why i like cartoons about robots.

i just watched two great sequels.

there are a couple words i use to express my love for the evangelion rebuild movie series. here we go with evangelion 2.22 you can (not) advance

the studio made the evangelion tv series not knowing the ending.

well, now that the studio knows exactly what it wants to accomplish; that is already so much reason to love it. they made a great sketch that became a really interesting drawing and, now with new skill and focus, they really are erasing the sketch lines and starting another piece. the work shows off; not only are they doing little tiny inserts to prelude and foreshadow to the ending, but, well, yeah, they’re changing the entire content so it makes sense. this means a lot of sacrifice to the original tv series— oh well, i guess they got rid of some scenes, some angels, some pointless fluff and merged into more concise but equally powerful and evocative actions.

the first movie didn’t have a lot of new content compared to the tv series— just redrawn scenes. but augh, this second one, it’s all original- it had to be (with the exception of the fight scene with unit 03, whose battle is completely different anyway). it was so refreshing, it was so well built, it was so well done, with great designs, new angles on things, an entirely different landscape,

and oh my god, the characters in this version are aggressive

look at little shinji with a new outfit, holy asdf, look at him smile

i’m very happy that i watched this one by myself, because i have never sworn so much out of excitement in my life this is a lie but although it was all new and in all honesty a completely different story, it had so many throwbacks to the original series (that’s right! this remake is so different from the original that i refer to references as “throwbacks.”)

the emotional build up was so good and not trite at all and it was so humble yet really pricking upon the corners of how absolutely aggressive these children are in their desperation for love from their fathers.

aim for the top 2 ! diebuster on the other hand?

it had such a real and great grasp on friendship. the relationship between the characters was so well built, that kind of thing causes tears; and in all honesty, i think that this is the first friendship between fictional female characters for which i’ve actually held great sympathy.

why is the mecha genre so good at focusing on an individual and his bond with others and bond with the earth?

why is it so great at fleshing out a person’s need for affection or approval or relationships with other people, when all it seems to be is a battle of scale and war?

why is it so good at imagery of hands and earths, this is the weirdest theme ever

i’ve been coming across the realization of how many decisions i will have to make as long as i am alive and how many arms i have to cut off of myself

take the proverbial saw and just start at the trunk of my arm and just slide, slide, saw, saw, until i get too frustrated and impatient and just start hack it off

I am full of happiness today!

And I think it’s because, since it was the last day of school, I made every word I said out loud and wrote down meaningful. And that fills me with joy to know that everything I expressed in the past couple of hours has been full of my sincere soul!

Except for the AP Latin exam— the essays I wrote for that were not too full of meaning. I’m pretty great at making up answers!
